Most people now own smartphones, and with the increasing amount of modern devices released, it makes sense that companies are now able to produce less expensive but still feature-packed phone options. This marks a new era in technology and a movement towards more affordable yet still technologically advanced devices for all, a transformation which most mainstream gadgets go through over the years. One of these devices is the newly released Huawei Honor 6A.
What is Huawei?
Huawei is an information and technology brand that needs little introduction. Its history of producing well-made and high-functioning smartphones that implement the latest in technologies have made the company a burgeoning success, making it one of the biggest and most popular brands for phones and tech.
What is the Huawei Honor 6A?
The Huawei HONOR 6A is one of the more inexpensive gadgets offered by Huawei. It is the next in line after the Honor 5C. As a budget smartphone, it has been highly anticipated among many customers who are in need of a new device without breaking the bank.
The Honor 6A has a 1,280 * 720 pixel screen with a 5” display, which is less than its previous models, and its screen brightness also leaves something to be desired. Coupled with an overly reflective screen, this low brightness can make viewing difficult in sunny settings. Still, this is a minor detail, as the smaller screen means the lower pixel count isn’t particularly obvious, and the colors are vibrant and easy to make out. The phone uses an IPS LCD display, so the screen can be easily viewed from all angles.
The Honor 6A has an outstanding battery life. It runs on a 3,020 mAh battery that allows for an entire day without requiring charging iFit is not being used to an extreme. According to Huawei, you can use the phone for up to 10 hours for browsing and surfing on 4G. The phone can also supposedly maintain a charge for 12 hours’ worth of video. Despite the low price of the phone, it is made from metal, which isn’t something we typically see in budget devices and adds to the value of its durability.
The phone makes use of the EMUI 5.1 program and runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 430. It comes with 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM, with the option to use a MicroSD or even a dual-SIM. The Honor 6A’s main camera rates at13 megapixels, with its front selfie cam boasting a humble 5-megapixel resolution.
On the whole, the Huawei Honor 6A performs well and is popular for a reason, but Huawei seems to have made some strange decisions in relation to its features and specifications. While it makes use of a spiffy and streamlined CPU and has a more attractive, sleeker body than its predecessors, the Honor 6A has downgraded several specs from the Honor 5C, which it feels a little bit dated. With that being said, it is still a respectable budget smartphone that is simple and easy to use. Despite its lack of bells and whistles, the phone holds up well against similarly priced competitors and is a solid choice for anyone who needs an inexpensive but modern phone.
