We have to say we are hugely impressed by U9 and U10 from Oukitel, showing amazing hardware in all aspects and high cost performance. Whereas, that’s not the end of Oukitel this year, in fact, they just announced a $99.99 budget phone OUKITEL U2.
Superficially, it feels like an entry-level device if you take a quick glimpse, even though Oukitel declared they used aerospace aluminum metal frame that processed CNC forging and molding, as well as 2.5D curved glass both on the front and rear. Of course, it will be an overkill asking a budget phone so much to be fair.
Instead of mainstream this year– 64-bit MTK6753 SoC, OUKITEL U2 Smartphone features a special 64-bit MT6735M Quad-core processor, along with standard GPU and 1GB RAM+8GB ROM, processing frequency is just 1.0GHz, could this be a turning point?
Meanwhile, it comes with 5-inch 960*540 pixels capacitive touch screen on aforementioned 2.5D curved panel, support 5-point touch, it is processed through IPS technology BTW.
Like many other Chinese budget phone like first generation Redmi, 5MP front camera with 88 degree wide angle lens and 8MP rear camera OV sensor could be the best they can offer. We can’t give a word about that so far but it looks just entry-level.
Likewise, OUKITEL U2 carries budget phone-style 2050mAh battery, support FDD-LTE/WCDMA/GSM network and Android 5.1 Lollipop OS (it is not confirmed yet), OTG and OTA.
At this point, people who are interested in U2 have to wait for while as the first batch of OUKITEL U2 will arrive on 8th, September if everything is going to be fine. What do you think about it? Is it just right for the part?
